(UPDATE) Senator Panfilo Lacson said he was ready to spend the rest of his life in hiding.
This was the statement he made Monday after reports indicated that he has surfaced over the weekend.
The Court of Appeals' Special Sixth Division issued a resolution on March 18 affirming its earlier decision on Feb. 3, 2011 to nullify arrest warrants against Lacson.
Lacson who was hiding for 14 months stressed he wanted only a "fair share of justice." He insisted he went on hiding because he didn't want to go to prison for a crime he didn't commit.
The Senator said that he did not feel that the current administration was his ally, as he hinted on the earlier moves of the Secretary of the Department of Justice.
Probed about his whereabouts over the past 14 months, Lacson declined to give details. But he stressed that he was moving around different countries. He even admitted that some people have spotted him while he was hiding.
He stressed that he only got his travel documents when the courts nullified the arrest warrants against him.
While hiding, he disclosed that he spent his time on self-reflection.
"I am more inclined to forgive and forget," he said, as he stressed that he will continue to do his duty and responsibilities as a lawmaker.
While hiding, Lacson said he spent his time cooking, reading and even surfing and downloading e-books on the Internet.
"I was able to keep my head down," he said, noting that he felt like a prisoner who was outside of a prison.
"I disciplined myself to the hilt," he added.
