Lindsay Lohan Fails Drug Test
LOS ANGELES (Xinhua) -- Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan failed a court-ordered drug test, raising the possibility she could serve more jail time, a local entertainment website reported Friday. The drug test was conducted last week, according to the website TMZ.com. Under the terms of Lohan's probation, she could be sent to jail for 30 days for failing a drug test. Several other entertainment and celebrity news outlets also reported the news. Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, said prosecutors had not received any notification about an alleged failed test involving the actress. Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox ordered last month that he be notified within 72 hours of any failed or missed drug tests by the actress. Lohan, 24, spent three weeks at a drug-rehabilitation program at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center last month. She went into the rehab program after serving 13 days in jail for violating her probation in a pair of DUI cases. After her release from the rehabilitation program, the "Mean Girls" star was ordered by Fox to remain in Los Angeles, participate in psychotherapy counseling and chemical dependency sessions, along with 12-step meetings. She was also ordered to submit to random drug and alcohol testing no less than twice a week, in addition to attending behavioral therapy classes twice a week. Lohan was sentenced to a day in prison and was placed on three years probation after she pleaded no contest to two counts each of drunken driving and being under the influence of cocaine, and one count of reckless driving in August 2007. The probation later was extended for a year after she missed some alcohol-education classes while making a movie
