Goodbye WOWOWEE show and Hello Pilipinas Win na Win show in ABSCBN Noon Time Show

MANILA, Philippines – Although caught off guard by the announcement of their newtelevision program, the hosts of upcoming “Pilipinas Win na Win” on Wednesday said they were ecstatic about the show.

Robin Padilla, Valerie Concepcion, Mariel Rodriguez and Pokwang only met with the management of ABS-CBN Wednesday to discuss the concept of the show. Concepcion, Rodriguez and Pokwang, all hosts of “Wowowee,” admitted that they only learned about the news on “TV Patrol.”

“Pilipinas Win na Win” will replace “Wowowee” on Saturday. The network’s executives also decided to bring Concepcion, Rodriguez and Pokwang as well as the whole production team of “Wowowee” to the new program. Joining them are Kris Aquino and Padilla.

Concepcion said although she is glad to be part of “Pilipinas Win na Win,” she is sad at the same time because “Wowowee” is about to end. Concepcion was also emotional over the fact that not all female co-hosts of “Wowowee” will be part of the new program.

However, she is confident that ABS-CBN “has plans for them so I just wish them good luck and more blessings.”

RR Enriquez, Jed Montero and Kelly Misa also host "Wowowee." Main man Willie Revillame, on the other hand, will be given a new show.

“Masaya ako dahil continuous work at thankful ako sa ABS-CBN. At the same time, nalungkot doon sa part na parang siyempre I am what I am right now because of ‘Wowowee.’ I’m definitely going to miss the show,” she said.

Like “Wowowee,” Pokwang assured that “Pilipinas Win na Win” will also inspire and help those who are in need.

The “ecstatic” and “very grateful” Rodriguez, meantime, is also thankful to Revillame. She worked with Revillame for 4 years.

“Apat na taon ako sa ‘Wowowee.’ Malaki ang pasasalamat ko kay Kuya Willie. Hindi ko naman nakakalimutan ‘yon,” she said.

When reporters pointed out that she would work again with Padilla, her suitor, and that he was once romantically linked to Aquino, Rodriguez opted to remain quiet.

Padilla, meantime, was candid about the whole issue.

On Aquino, Padilla said it is now all in the past. “’Yong nakaraan magiging sandata na lang ‘yon para maging maganda ang programa. Para balikan? Ang prioridad natin ang show.”

On Rodriguez, the action star said: “Nanliligaw pa lang.”

He added that people should not focus too much on his love life. He said the attention should be on "Pilipinas Win na Win."

Padilla, who became the guest host of “Wowowee” for 2 weeks, said he is happy with his new show.

“Masayang masaya ako at sana maulit uli ‘yong ligaya, saya na binigay natin sa ating mga kababayan sa buong daigdig. Medyo kinakabahan dahil nabigla din ako…. Para ito magbigay ng saya, para sa mga tao,” he said. -Report from Marie Lozano, ABS-CBN News.
